Oh dear, this is really one for the record books.
You're going to need some background info to start. My mom and I really want to join a gym and get back into shape, and so Mom has been going to check out various gyms in the area. She comes home yesterday all excited and tells me that she found the gym for us. It's ladies only and they do circuit training. I immediately "poo poo" the idea saying that I like my way of working out just fine and I don't want to be told what to do. Mom says to quit my bitchin' and just try it. So off we go this morning.
I really love the trainer there, it's a small gym and so she's able to work with everybody individually. There's 30 machines arranged in a circle and you do 1 minute on each machine. There's a thing playing over the loudspeaker that says "30 seconds left", "15 seconds left", "change machines" - it's tres motivating. So she has the machines set up so you do one weight machine and then one cardio machine and you're supposed to use the cardio machines to take it easy and catch your breath again. Yeah, I totally missed that memo.
My first day back at the gym in years and I decide to punch it out and go at 150% on every machine. Halfway through my mom made me stop and grab some water. By the end I was dizzy and seeing spots. So I sat down and the trainer moved a fan to hit me in the face, but I still was NOT doing so great. Mom asked me if I had to go into the bathroom and I bolted. Yeah, I totally threw up about three times. I'm told that when I walked back into the room I was as white as a ghost.
My mother thinks that this is pretty much the funniest thing to ever happen. I hate to admit it, but she's right. Oh, and did I mention that my 52 year-old mother was just fine after doing exact same workout? And did I mention that there were three other women in their 60's doing the circuit and they were all fine? What can I say, I rock. ;)
We're going back tonight for Zumba. Forget giving 100%, my goal is to not throw up.

Aww poor thing! LoL it's happened to me before. You'll love Zumba! I almost got certified to teach it. It's loads of fun!
Totally normal after a break from the gym, happens to everyone. Keep it up and you'll feel great!
Are you ok now?! I hope. See, that would be me. That's why exercising is dangerous. ;)
Stopping by from SITS! Hope you made it through Zumba!
